TITLE 67 STATE GOVERNMENT AND STATE AFFAIRS CHAPTER 3 STATE OFFICERS IN GENERAL 67-301. Classification of officers. The public officers of this state are classified as follows: 1. Legislative. 2. Executive. 3. Judicial. 4. Ministerial officers and officers of the courts. But this classification is not to be construed as defining the legal powers of either class. TITLE 67 STATE GOVERNMENT AND STATE AFFAIRS CHAPTER 3 STATE OFFICERS IN GENERAL 67-302. Commencement of term of office. The regular term of office of state and district officers, and of the judges of the Supreme and district courts, shall commence on the first Monday of January next after their election. TITLE 67 STATE GOVERNMENT AND STATE AFFAIRS CHAPTER 3 STATE OFFICERS IN GENERAL 67-303. Holding office after expiration of term. Every officer elected or appointed for a fixed term shall hold office until his successor is elected or appointed and qualified, unless the statute under which he is elected or appointed expressly declares the contrary. This section shall not be construed in any way to prevent the removal or suspension of such officer, during or after his term, in cases provided by law.
